Colonial Granada

Allow us the opportunity to show you first hand the heart and soul of one of the most largest Central American countries: Nicaragua, land of lakes and volcanoes!!

Your trip begins leaving Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica, followed by the interesting experience of the border crossing. Once in Nicaragua, a professional TAM Guide will introduce us to Lake Nicaragua or Cocibolca, the only lake in the world that is home for fresh water sharks.

No trip to Nicaragua is complete without a visit to Masaya´s Crafts Market, famous for the

colourful variety of handicrafts and for you to discover treasures displayed in stands that are representative of the evolution of the artisan’s imagination. We continue to Las Isletas, a group of 365 small islands just offshore from Granada in the Lago de Nicaragua.

The highlight of our trip is the visit to the historic city of Granada, the oldest colonial city in main land América, founded by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba in 1524.

We will enjoy lunch at the Mediterráneo Restaurant, an ample adobe house meticulously restored, where we will be delighted with Spanish and Nicaragua dishes. After lunch an afternoon walking tour is panned to the historical center, revealing architectural gems like old baroque churches and important cultural attractions,

As you bid farewell to Nicaragua and head back to Costa Rica, you know this has been a journey to remember for the rest of your life, a journey that we have been pleased to share with you every step of the way.
